Voting by post is an easy and convenient way of voting. You may not be able to vote in person because you are at work, away on holiday, are physically unable or just do not have the time to get to your local polling station to vote in person. If you are unable to get to the polling station to vote in person you still have the right to vote. If you have not yet joined the electoral register or you have moved house then make sure to get in contact with your local Electoral Office to make sure you have the right to vote.
You can choose either to vote by post or to appoint someone else - a proxy vote where someone will vote on your behalf. If you would like to find out more about registering to vote and voting by post or proxy, please visit the Electoral Commission.
